2N5088 Transistor, 2N5088 - BJT NPN, Silicon Amplifier, 30V, 0.05A (Pack of 20)

I needed SN5088s for a boost pedal circuit. These worked great!

Making a guitar pedal worked as expected.

The variation of these is awful, with the bulk of them being below 400. Only 3 were within spec. DO NOT BUY!

I attempted to repair an old equalizer (which was about 45 years old) and finding 'compatible' parts was a challenge. The original transistors were no longer made anywhere but I was able to substitute similar transistor type 'amplifiers' to finish my project. Using a very inexpensive 'Multi-Function tester' I was also able to test the type and output characteristics of the substitute parts. Transistor outputs vary widely and you'll want to have all the transistors in your circuit as closely matched as possible.

Product as described. Quality part. Performed great!

So the transistors came in 2 seperate bags in quantities of 10. One package was already opened and 2 new transistors were missing. At the bottom of the bag containing the 2 seperate quantities, were the remaining two transistors. In rough shape i should add. The leads are mangled and look like the were clipped off a board and threw into packaging. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

I’ve used about 8 of these so far and they were all within range and worked just as expected. I use these for guitar pedals.
