is this clay easy to work with, or does it need a kneading machine to soften it up?

It is not as easy to work as other brands I have used in the past, and although it does not seem to ever really soften it does droop and lose form which tells me it is too soft for some modeling. I believe the problem is that this product is made from actual earth clay so it is much heavier than other clays that are made partly from recycled paper products. I regret not choosing one of the other clays I have worked with before. I chose this clay because it is universal it can be sculpted, spun on a wheel, air-dried, fired, and glazed. So I expected it to be the best for all projects and did not consider why different clays are normally used for different types of uses. I have only attempted to use it for air drying and it is by far inferior to other brands I have used for air drying projects. I have never used a kneading machine so I don't know that one would help prepare the clay to an acceptable state for molding, but I personally don't think this is a good air-drying clay.

Is this suitable to use with silicone molds?

from my understanding, it is, though I have only tried using it to create a silicone mold for future casting. it can be cast from a silicone mold. Personally, I think that the clay itself is not good clay and all my finished products have cracked and crumbled while drying.

I'm planning to make tablets to write in Cuneiform without having to invest in a furnace when I saw that it dries quickly. How quickly...?

i would say it dries pretty fast. the problem with it though is that is very fragile and cracks easily. 2 of my projects have broken and cracked repeatably.
