AirTamer A310 Personal Air Purifier Necklace – Rechargeable Wearable Air Cleaner for Travel, Office & Everyday Use - Silent, Lightweight, Black with Metal Case

I wrote this review originally for the A302. I switched to the A310 about a year ago, mainly for the convenience of USB recharging instead of having to keep buying batteries. Otherwise the story is the same: Here's my complete factual experience with this product. You can draw your own conclusions. I originally bought the Airtamer for use on airplanes, as most do. I have flown Delta and American, and there has never been an issue with wearing it. Before I bought it I used to get sick regularly after traveling. In the years since I bought it, this has never happened again. I am also a teacher and getting older and more prone to illness. Four years ago I got sick 5 times during the school year. Three years I got sick 5 times before Christmas. So, I decided to try wearing the Airtamer at school as well as on airplanes, and began Jan. 1, 2014. As of Dec. 3, 2014, I have not had a cold since (knock wood!). I also noticed that, since I started wearing it daily, my usual allergies have been diminished. I find that if I have an allergy attack and turn on the Airtamer, the attack usually goes away with 10 minutes, often less. **Update 2/7/16: It has been more than 2 years now since I started wearing this every day. I'm superstitious and don't want to jinx it, so I'll just say that the story I tell above, as it relates both to allergies and to lack of illness, is, so far, unchanged.

I'm very sensitive to ozone so I had to first return an Air Supply Mini-Mate AS180 because the ozone was too much for me. This unit is perfect for me. I flew a roundtrip on United. No problem with airline staff. I am usually very much bothered by the jet fuel and engine fumes whenever I fly so I wanted an ionizer-purifier. I bought the AIrTamer at the beginning of Nov 2018. When I wore it to fly, I felt very well during my flights. Some reviewers were bothered by the cord but I decided to try this unit anyway even though I have very sensitive skin. Gratefully I was not bothered at all by the cord while I was flying. I also wear my unit from time to time when not flying and have on occasion 'adjusted' the cord. I guess I became 'aware' of it on my skin a couple of times but it was not painful or irritating. Perhaps there is some other factor involved, such as possibly the level of hydration of the wearer at the time. I am careful to be very well hydrated before flights. This unit is comfortable, light, effective, with excellent battery life. Love that it's rechargeable. I leave it hanging up charging in my car so it's with me whenever I need it. I like to use it in traffic when the road fumes really get inside the car. Worth it just for the car. Beats any passenger compartment air filter by a long shot.

I bought this for my trip in August 2026 and will update after usage and returned from my trip. So far I’m pleased with how small and compact this is.

I took this on a trip to Disney World and wore it on both my 5 hour flights as well as in the parks. It took some getting used to at first because it doesn't eliminate smells or really change anything about your experience traveling. BUT, psychologically I did feel that the air felt cleaner and it put me at ease walking in and out of all the gross bathrooms as well as through crowds (I'm used to holding my breath and walking around coughs/sneezes!). It was easy to charge it using my phone plug USB adapter and then flip the switch and put it around my neck for the day. I will say, I'd avoid wearing any other necklaces, because my gold chain ended up rubbing and giving me a rash the first day--but that was also because of the heat/walking around. I did forget to wear the air tamer one of the days, but I also didn't get sick. So my overall consensus is that I will be taking this on every trip from now on!

I am returning this item. It does not perform as stated - not even close. I tested it. I have another personal air purifier. I've had it for so many years, I decided to purchase a new one - just in case. My old one was from a company that is no longer carrying this item. So in search of one to replace it, I found this one. The description of performance sounded just like my old one but it wasn't close. How can I tell? This claims to push the allergens away from my breathing zone, just like my old one did. So I tested it in a stream of smoke. (Just to be sure the smoke wasn't too heavy, I also just the mist from an essential oil diffuser.) Turn it on, hold it near the smoke - nothing. I did the same thing with my old item and I could easily see the stream of smoke be pushed away. Easy test.

Silent and functions as promised.

I tried this but returned it. I think it may work but in the setting I was in, it was safer to use a mask. I kept checking to make sure the ion was working. It was light weight and did get lots of attention with people wanting to know what it was. The size is good because it's small.

It is quiet so no one can be disturbed on the plane with it on, I didn’t get sick that flight. Mentally still not 100% sure it’s really doing anything? Guess I need to wear it more to know for sure. Battery life lasts quite awhile. Wish I had it in the 70’s bowling alley though.

I do notice a difference when I'm wearing this device. I wish the cord looked more attractive and I should have purchased the white model and not the black. Everyone thinks I'm wearing a recording device so I'm explaining a lot. I find it looks ridiculous with my necklaces and dressy clothing but I wear it anyway. I find it's helpful for musty situations, pollen and even being around people who wear too many perfume or essential oils. You still smell them but it's not overpowering anymore. The unit doesn't work great on smoke but given the size you can't expect it to do everything. I do wish there was a little fan so the cleaner air would be circulated around my mouth and nose but I imagine that would make noise. I like how silent this device is. You can't hear a thing unless you put it up against your ear and then you hear the faintest push sound. I can use it beside my bed at night and not hear a thing. The light on the back makes use at night slightly less enjoyable but I put a piece of electrical tape over it and that solves that problem. The cord is the biggest con. It's ugly and doesn't feel the best against the skin. Kind of like carrying a used rope around your neck but you get used to it quickly. Wish there was a clip on the rechargeable version like there is on the battery powered one. Or at least the option. If it had a clip on the back of the unit I could clip it to my collars and hide the cord under my clothing for more discreet use. If you're expecting to a shot of crystal clean oxygen your expectations are too high. If you want something to help make life a bit more bearable when suffering from allergies it's worth every penny. Con: Cord is unsightly, no clip, stands out when wearing Pro: Silent, rechargeable, lightweight, works as an excellent aid

Hi everyone I generally dont write reviews but this time I felt very happy to write this review regarding this Airtamer which I have purchased through Amazon. It was a prompt delivery and I have started using from the Day one itself as I spend most of my time under Office AC. Since One Year I never felt cold or any viral effective disease. Im pretty sure that it can drive away Covid-19 virus also. Worth trying It. Thanks for the technology.

Very Good

I like this little gadget. I can't know properly it's wider effects against pathogens, but I can say that since I've been using it my allergic reactions have greatly reduced: post nasal drip when lying down. Fairly soon after purchasing so time might tell. But I will say I'm glad I have it by me.

Do not like the smell of ozone
